i have an impacted tooth and the purpose of the "surgery" is to expose the tooth so it could be pulled out using a button that connects it to the wire of the braces. it's something like that. i really don't want to ask the dentist any questions.

i lay there in the dentist chair with green cloth covering my face apart from a hole for the nose and the mouth (duh). anyway, i won't bore you with a play-by-play but if you need a mental image of what it looks like....i have stitches on my gums. the dentist used BLACK thread. the dentist isn't much of a sewer(?). it looks like a cross stitch that decided it wanted to be a running stitch halfway. i didn't really feel the sewing, but i felt the thread on my face. at first i thought he had falling hair. turns out it was the thread. the tooth-that-wouldn't-come-out is now slightly visible. it's being pulled by a small button that has rubber around it. it's painful. (i tried taking a picture but it didn't do the actual thing justice)

he gave me a few rules before i could run to a drug store and buy pain medication.

• don't talk too much
• don't smile too widely (it adds pressure)

oh. he also told me NOT TO BRUSH MY TEETH FOR 3 DAYS. you lucky dogs. you won't have to go anywhere near me this monday. haha. (i do use astring-o-sol, if you must know)

anyway! the stitches come off on saturday so i won't have to deal with this for long.
