Took you long enough.. @ 1:21 PM |

"(title)" is most likely what ad-ass is thinking right now. Well, yeah. I know I am absolutely neglecting my responsibility as a friend. Sigh.. Anyway, first thing's first: I'm sorry for posting later rather than sooner. My bad. I can't make up excuses 'cause: a) I don't have any & b) if I did have one, you wouldn't think it valid. So... sorry guys. 2nd thing: Kung Fu Panda is cool & hilarious (not an unforgettable movie but still, it's Jack Black for Pete's sake!) But Sam Concepcion is neither (if there are any fans reading this, no offense.) 3rd thing (to ass): Ever After? Wasn't that made 10 years ago? (once again, no offense) 4th thing: Good Charlotte and Panic At The Disco (!) rule!!! Pretty. Odd. is an awesome album and I can't wait to get tickets and watch it. 5th and last thing: about the rule... I don't know . I guess I'll have to make time if that's possible. But I will TRY. Note the thickened, italicized, and magenta-colored word TRY. Besides, I have also filled my quota for this week. Equations for the day: A posts + D posts + ASS posts = a lot of posts one thing + another thing + another thing + another thing + another thing = 5 things to say In conclusion, a lot of posts on your part is equal to a lot of things to say on mine so.... bear with me. Steven Spielberg much?! @ 3:41 PM |
|
Indiana Jones 4: Kingdom of the Crystal was absolutely wicked (very long fighting but very much exciting scenes) except for the ending 'cause it was so Steven Spielberg, really. But don't worry guys, I not going to spoil it for all ye who haven't watched it yet. But it was really awesome.... watched it on the 1st day of showing- May 22, 2008! I personally believe you need to watch at least the 1st IJ movie (Raiders of the Lost Ark) to catch up with the events of this new one. I mean, that's what I watched just before IJ 4. But then, that's my opinion and I'm just sharing it with the world- meaning everyone who will read this post!!! Anyway, I just posted this very informal* movie review since A, D, & ASS have posted recently and I feel I am very much obliged to do the same. *Informal since I didn't include any category unlike the other movie reviews/posts. On the whole, I'd give the movie a thumbs-up so.... watch it!!! P.S. Thank God Shia LaBeouf was chosen for the role of Mutt Williams! Labels: b, obligatory posting, review

Movie Review: Atonement @ 2:24 PM |
|
title: Atonement starring: Keira Knightley and James McAvoy rating: PG13 - About: love, war, atonement.
- Setting: 1940's - during British war, England
- Casting: i was expecting keira knightley to be playing a role much like in pride & prejudice but this is completely different. james mcavoy looks a bit like russell crowe.
- Rating: its pg13 but i think it should be raised for the ff reasons:
- there's rape
- repeated use of the word 'cunt'. i'm not sure what it means exactly but i don't think it's very kid-friendly
- massacre of french school girls (it is during the war)
- cruelty to animals (specifically horses)
- lots of maimed soldiers
- should i go on?
- British: their accents were a bit heavy. they spoke quickly so i couldn't follow well.
- Story: we missed the first 10 minutes or so of the movie so it didn't make much sense. i strongly recommend reading the novel first before watching the movie. the thing is, it all became clear in the end.
- Ending: i really liked the ending. :)
Bottom line: what initially drew us to watch atonement was because it won loads of academy awards. we should have known. it was serious and dark and distrubing. i was so confused and bored during some of the parts. we even considered leaving the movie theater because the movie wasn't making sense. we seriously opted for over her dead body. but things picked up and the ending was awesome. it was still disturbing though.

Movie Review: Superbad @ 12:58 PM |
|
title: Superbadstarring: Michael Cera and Jonah Hillrating: R(ok, i shouldn't even have watched this movie but the dvd was lying around and i was also lying around.)- Casting: poi-fect
- Rated R: it was rated this way for a lot of reasons. including pervasive crude and sexual content, strong language, drinking some drug use, and a fantasy/comic violent image - all involving teens. there's excessive use of the F word. you can hear it in almost every sentence.
- Writing: superfunny, but i shouldn't even be getting the jokes.
- Ending: even if it is r-rated, you'll just see two best friends getting over the fact that they won't be together for college.
Bottom line: watch it, if you can. my mom was in the next room when i was watching this. :Pi McLoved it. Labels: a, review, silver screen
Movie Review: 10,000 BC @ 11:59 AM |
|
WARNING! SPOILER ALERT! -ass title: 10,000 BC starring: Steven Strait and Camilla Belle
- Casting: i felt that it was a lot like 300 because i couldn't recognize the actors. i didn't see like brad pitt or anyone in the pages of Us Weekly. i thought that camilla belle was absolutely goh-juss.
- Characters: i didn't like 'Old Mother'. the character reminded me too much of Tia Dalma from Pirates of the Caribbean.
- Story: the story was so simple and not very thought-provoking at all. very prehistoric in the sense that it was all about survival. does that make sense?
- Scenes: i didn't like the scene with the tiger. even if it meant he will miraculously find friends who will fight with him and be lucky enough to find a translator.
- Love Triangle: it definitely made the movie more interesting. but it seemed a bit unrealistic that the black guy would be so nice to evolet.
- Ending: i was disappointed that the movie was so long and it didn't even have a happy ending. but lo and behold! old mother dies and evolet comes back to life! it felt more like a feel-good-romance-movie than a movie based on history.
Bottom line: the story wasn't great. i wouldn't watch it if they show it on HBO. *this is my opinion, no need to get violent if you absolutely loved it. Labels: a, review, silver screen
